*Please note, these prices include the reinforced concrete slab, court surface and equipment only.
** Price range does NOT include the initial site work e.g. shrub and tree removal, sod and soil excavation, levelling/grading, retaining walls, drainage, irrigation modification etc. We would need to visit the site (assuming it is within our service area) to assess the needs/costs, as the site preparation cost is always site specific.

We believe a court is generally a good investment for your house – and we are sure that it is an even better investment for your family.
5. What do families/communities love about their courts?
There are many reasons why families/communities choose to install an outdoor game court. Here are a few of the most common ones:
We are a full service contractor so we can do as much of the project as you need (dependent on location). There are a number of stages:
7. How can we customize our court - can we choose multiple colors?
Customizing your court is the fun part. Apart from the size and layout, here are some things you can do to make your court unique:
See our Design page and check out our Gallery for more ideas.
We are the exclusive Sport Court distributor for Washington State, Northern Idaho and Alaska:
If you are outside these areas. Then we can work with your local contractor to make sure your court is done right.
9. How long does it take to install a court?
Once we start working on your project - depending on the scope of work we are doing - the installation can take just a couple of days or as long as one month.
10. Do I need a permit to build a backyard court?
Potentially - In some communities, you may be required to get certain permits/variances before building your backyard/community game court. There may be some restrictions on size, proximity to your property line, drainage, fencing, or lights. Please note, we leave ALL permitting to the homeowner.
11. What are your surfaces installed on?
Sport Court surfaces can be installed on concrete, asphalt or our SportBase material. We do not install our surfaces over crushed rock, dirt or grass.
SportBase was invented by Sport Court as an alternative to pervious concrete. Typically we have used SportBase on smaller half court/shooting courts (the average court size for our SportBase courts is approx. 850 sq. ft.), however, we have installed a number of multipurpose courts too.
SportBase has numerous benefits:
SportBase also has some compromises:
Please visit our Products page to learn more and to see a video about SportBase. We can help you decide whether SportBase is the right option for your court.
13. Can we do the site preparation work ourselves?
Yes. If you have a landscape contractor that you want to work with and/or if the court is part of a larger backyard/landscaping remodel. Then you can prep the court area to our recommended specifications.
If you are located further away from our office, or if the project is very large and/or complex, then we do not offer site preparation. In these instances, it is easier – and more economical – for you to use a local contractor.
14. Can we do the concrete foundation ourselves?
Although we like to do our own concrete work when possible (for quality control reasons), if you are either outside our work area for concrete, or if you want to work with another contractor, then you can do this stage yourselves. Please note, this is a very important stage, as the concrete work affects the performance of the court surface – here are a few things to consider:
15. We already have a slab, can you install a Sport Court surface?
Yes we can. Our modular surfaces can be retrofitted to transform an old concrete or asphalt slab. The modular surface will disguise most imperfections in the existing slab, however, you might need to do some cleaning and repair/patching work first.
16. What are the surface options?
We have a range of modular surfaces as well as a heavy duty acrylic coating option.
Please see our Products page for further information.
17. Do you paint lines on bare concrete or on an existing coated/acrylic court?
No. We do NOT offer line painting on bare concrete or on existing acrylic/coated courts.
18. Do you recoat/repaint tennis courts?
No. This is a service that we do NOT currently offer.
19. Why is a Sport Court surface important - can’t we just play on concrete?
No other outdoor sports surface can deliver a better combination of shock absorption, ball response, traction, and playability than our outdoor modular flooring:
20. Is the surface slippery when wet?
Our SportGame PB surface has much improved wet weather traction. That said, any surface — whether grass, artificial turf, or even concrete or asphalt — will be more slippery when wet. Sport Court’s open-grid design sheds water quickly, making it possible to return to action sooner than any other surface. You can use your court year round, however, we do recommend adjusting your play according to the conditions.
21. How long will our game court last?
Sport Court game courts are constructed with the highest quality and most durable materials, as well as backed with an industry leading warranty. When combined with our 40+ years of installation expertize, we expect your court to deliver decades of safe, fun, play for your family or community.
22. How do we maintain our game court?
Durability and ease of maintenance are a few qualities your game court exemplifies. Routine maintenance is simple and easy: A broom, blower, or hose can be used to keep the top surface free of debris, and since water drains quickly through the open grid, your court is ready for play soon after cleaning or inclement weather. If a deeper clean is needed, we have a year-round service crew that can perform a subsurface cleaning for you (additional fees apply).
23. If the sports surface becomes damaged, how difficult is it to replace?
Our surfaces are constructed of durable polypropylene. In the unlikely event that there is damage, with our patented interlocking flooring system, replacing a section or even a single tile is cheap and easy.
1. How much room do we need for an in-home court?
There are NO set sizes. At the smaller end, we have built in-home courts that are not much larger than a basketball key.
2. What does a sports surface cost?
Typically the price will typically be between $9 and $15 + tax per sq. ft. This range does NOT include any prep work e.g. removing an existing surface or repairing/levelling an existing slab:
The price of your court is dependent on a number of factors:
3. Are there court accessories available for purchase?
Yes. We offer a range of high quality components for your in-home gym or facility, including wall mounted and portable basketball hoops, wall pads, volleyball and center net systems, hockey boards, goals and more.
Please see our Products page for more details.

It is typically less expensive than even basic suspended wood floor systems, and most other synthetic alternatives.
5. What makes Sport Court flooring different from others – and what are the safety benefits?
No other sports surface can deliver a better combination of shock absorption, ball response, playability and affordability than Sport Court flooring:
There are a number of stages:

9. How long does it take to install an in-home court or facility court?

10. Can we install the surface ourselves?
Yes. If desired you can do some, or all, of the installation.
11. How well does the ball bounce compare to other basketball floors?
DIN-certified basketball floors must deliver a minimum 90% ball response, but we don’t believe in bare minimums. Our modular surfaces range from 93% to 100% ball response.
12. We have an existing slab – can we install one of your sport surfaces?
Yes, we can upgrade your existing slab in just a few days. Our surfaces disguise most concrete imperfections, however, you might need to do some repairs/levelling prior to installing the sport surface.
Potentially. Often we can retrofit our sport surface over the existing flooring. This is the most economical option (especially if the existing flooring has any hazardous chemicals in it – making it difficult and costly to remove). However, if the flooring is in bad condition or is too soft, then it will need to be removed.
No. We do not use any toxic chemicals. In fact, we are the only ISO 14001 sports flooring manufacturer in the United States — the international standard for environmental controls.
15. What is the "Climate Control" criteria for Sport Court flooring?
Unlike many other sports surfaces, our Sport Court flooring does not require HVAC monitoring or humidity controls. Extreme humidity, cold temperatures, or heat generally don’t present any problems in playability, making Sport Court sport surfaces a great alternative to wood and other sports floors.
16. How is Sport Court flooring affected by moisture?
Unlike wood and most other synthetic floors, your Sport Court floor is virtually unaffected by water and will not flake, peel, or blister due to water damage caused by subsurface vapor, leaking roofs or broken pipes.
17. How long will a Sport Court floor last?
Sport Court modular sport surfaces are constructed with the highest quality and most durable materials and are covered by a 15-year limited warranty, although we expect them to deliver playability, safety, and durability for even longer. Some facilities have had the same Sport Court floor for over 30 years.
18. How do we maintain our Sport Court flooring?
Maintenance is easy. Sport Court sport surfaces require less work than most others. We recommend regular dust-mopping and intermittent mop cleaning. For larger facilities an auto scrubber is recommended.
For more information or to purchase equipment/supplies we recommend Moriah cleaning products
19. If the sports surface becomes damaged, how difficult is it to replace?

No. this is a service that we do not currently offer.
Bocce is a simple, fun, game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The game has a very rich history and has origins over two millennia (it is understood that Roman soldiers played bocce to unwind between battles - their version of the game largely involved throwing big rocks at a smaller rock).
Although Bocce wasn’t organized competitively in the United States until much later, it is now one of the fastest growing sports - the United States Bocce Federation says there are about 1 million players in the United States - and worldwide preparations are underway to include bocce in Olympic competitions.

The price of your court is dependent on the type of surface, size, location and our scope of work (prices below do NOT include site preparation or long distance travel charges):
* Full construction price does NOT include the initial site work e.g. shrub and tree removal, sod and soil excavation, levelling/grading, retaining walls, drainage, irrigation modification etc. We would need to visit the site (assuming it is within our service area) to assess the needs/costs, as the site preparation cost is always site specific.
** Pacific Pearl System must be purchased in a 12 width (so even if the court is smaller, the full 12’ needs to be purchased), as the patented fibered layer is manufactured in this size to accommodate most bocce ball court dimensions (custom wider widths are available for an additional fee).
*** Additional travel charges apply for long distance installations.
